Dibble Tree is the home, heart and soul of Carnoustie Theatre Club. Our amateur dramatics club has over 100 Members and Honorary Members (supporters) and was originally established with only a small membership of about a dozen, in 1969.
We are members of National Operatic and Dramatic Association (N.O.D.A.) and the Scottish Community Drama Association (S.C.D.A.)
We have competed many times in the S.C.D.A One-Act Play Festival and have performed in the National Finals many times, winning the Scottish Youth Finals on three occasions. Our annual programme of productions continues to include our Adult & Youth entries into the festival along with our pantomime in December at Carnoustie High School Theatre, and full length plays in the Spring and Autumn. We also actively participate in any scheduled local community based events that may require a bit of a 'show'...we LOVE doing ALL of that!
Productions aside, we pride ourselves on being an extremely sociable bunch...there is usually always something going on that gives us yet more opportunity to get together for some fun!
Why not consider joining our club? We are always looking for new members to get involved on or off stage…
Do you have an interest in Set Design, Stage Lighting, Sound Production, Program Design, Wardrobe, Direction or...of course... Acting? Then we would love to hear from you; we are certain you will have something to offer. There are many advantages to be had from becoming a member of the club which vary from simply making new friends and experiencing a wonderful sense of camaraderie during theatre related productions & events, through to raising self- confidence and discovering aspects of performance you didn’t realize you would enjoy quite so much! Of course, a membership will also allow you to book tickets in advance through our priority booking system for our productions.
If you would like to become a member of the club, please print off and complete our Membership form and return it with the correct remittance to our membership secretary at the address on the form. ( see below )
Alternatively please email your name and address to the Club Secretary requesting a membership form to be posted out to you.
Still not convinced? Why not give us a shout for a friendly confidential chat with one of our committee members for more information about the club and what we can offer you all year round with a membership? You can send us a private message through Facebook or alternatively contact a committee member direct by clicking on their name under Committee.
