Behind the Scenes

A few years ago the theatre club put on one of a collection of entertaining plays called “Deckchairs”.

This involved making the audience believe they were on a warm, sunny, sandy beach in summer. No mean feat for late September!

Although “Deckchairs” had only two people on stage at any one time, a veritable army of people had collaborated over the previous months to create that warm, sunny, sandy beach in summer.

They covered many areas and included:- producer, stage manager, stage crew, set designer, lighting manager, sound engineer, props, wardrobe, make-up, publicity, ticket and box office staff, front of house manager, the list is endless.

Without these people there would have been no show. So, remember, belonging to a theatre club can encompass many different interests, from simply going to the Theatre, through to set design!

If you are looking for a new interest, why not get in touch. And if treading the boards or making costumes etc is your dream then perhaps we can help make it a reality. Let us make good use all those hidden talents.

Training will be given, so even if you have no experience but have, for example always been interested in sound and sound effects, then please, get in touch. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
